About Us
The Vision
The Musicians of Tomorrow was founded by the famous violinist Maxim Vengerov who asked Dr Anna Rosnovsky, soloist and violinist of the Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra, to join him. The aim is to give children living in the far distant north of Israel the same opportunities that musically gifted students receive in the centres of the world. Maxim’s aim was also that Israel should be “known not just for its wars and soldiers, but for its young musicians.”
International teaching standards for the young musicians of Israel’s periphery
The vision of Musicians of Tomorrow is to give musically gifted children living in the northen periphery of Israel, the chance to excel. The dream has become a program of excellence recognized now all over Israel and throughout the world.
Each talented student is taught by the best possible local teacher and also by one of the leading musicians in the country including:
Dr Anna Rosnovsky – Iliya Shishkovic (Acco);
Prof Michal Tal – Luba Epstein (Safed);
Prof. Yossi Ahrenheim (leading Israeli woodwind musician) – Sharon Zimmerman (Safed);
Jonathan Hadas (IPO clarinetist) – Zvi Gluzman (Bloomington alumnus – Safed)
Sarah Pop (Analysis, Theory and Solfege) ,(Oxford and Cambridge alumna) (Rosh Pina).
Several of our current cohort have been designated by the Ministry of Education as exceptionally talented.
Our young musicians are enabled to continue their education after they leave us. Some of whom are accepted into the most prestigious academies of the world and pursue a professional musical career, representing Israel internationally.
Musicians of Tomorrow is an outstanding example of co-existence in Israel: taking children from Jewish and Arab Muslim and Christian backgrounds solely on the basis of musical potential. The children arrive after school for a hot meal before their lessons and receive other humanitarian aid as necessary.
